Santa Clara Power Builders Cohort #1
Together for 5 years
This Cohort lasts up to five years so relationships can strengthen, processes can develop, and internal structures can be built. Together, Climate Resilient Communities, People Acting in Community Together (PACT), and Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN) will meet quarterly to present grant proposals to each other, vote on new grants, share progress updates, and seek advice on new challenges as they build capacity and grow.
Climate Resilient Communities seeks to empower community voices and implement frontline, locally led climate solutions for unity, resilience, and justice that result in immediate and tangible improvements in the lives of residents.
Founded 2022
People Acting in Community Together’s (PACT) mission is to empower everyday people to create a healthier and just society by winning extraordinary victories for the community – not by speaking for them, but by teaching people how to speak up and take action in the public arena through grassroots organizing.
Founded 1992
Services Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN) supports immigrant and refugee communities in California as their own agents of change through community education, organizing, leadership development, legal services, policy advocacy, and civic engagement.

Long-Term Community Investment
Magic Cabinet prioritizes community-born, led, and serving organizations to build their capacity and accelerate their impact. We believe if given the time, tools, and resources they ask for, the organizations and the communities they serve will flourish.
Capacity Building Projects Overview
An effective nonprofit is more than its programs. This Cohort has access to up to $3.2 million through collectively approved capacity-building grants. Every Cohort Member faces unique challenges and opportunities for their organization; that’s why they determine how to leverage Magic Cabinet funds.
The power of capacity-building investments can’t be understated. See how one of our nonprofit partners incorporated sabbaticals as an investment in their team and community.
Community voices shape every aspect of our work, starting with our engagement process. By prioritizing conversations with community leaders and grassroots organizations, we’re able to identify areas where our grants can make the most impact.
By investing in tools, resources, and staff through capacity-building grants, nonprofits can strengthen their operations and create lasting community impact. Join us as we delve into the transformative power of resourcing nonprofits to fill their needs and build resilient teams for a sustainable future.
