C’Ardiss “CC” Gardner Gleser

Chief Executive Officer

CC is born and raised in the city of Seattle, having grown up between the Central District and the Southend. As a storyteller, strategist, and bridge-builder, her career has been shaped by a deep commitment to racial justice, healing, and joy. She began her career in tech, moved into nonprofit work with Technology Access Foundation, and ultimately landed in philanthropy, where she could expand her impact at a systems level. CC served as the first Director of Programs and Strategic Initiatives at Satterberg Foundation before founding Black Ivy Collective, a philanthropic consulting practice and healing space for Black artists, scholars, and social justice advocates.

CC holds a degree in African American Studies from Yale University and an M.Ed. from Seattle University and is a graduate of the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE) Connecting Leaders Fellowship. Most recently, she wrapped up fellowships with the Compton Foundation and the National Center for Family Philanthropy. CC currently serves on the boards of the Charlotte Martin Foundation, EPIP (Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy), Annie Wright Schools, Grist Media, and the Song Foundation.

When she’s not doing the good work of shifting philanthropy, CC is recharging with her husband and three adult children and listening to a good true crime podcast, often at the same time.
