Cherise McBride

Qualitative / Mixed-Methods Researcher

Cherise is a passionate researcher driven by inquiry and curiosity. Having grown up in California’s Central Valley within the nation’s top 5 highest concentrated poverty rate, she is eager to right the wrongs of persistent economic inequity. She co-designs with community to not only do research, but demystify the process and stories behind it.

Cherise brings to Magic Cabinet over 10 years of research experience at the intersections of learning, technology, and literacy. She earned a Ph.D from Berkeley School of Education and postdoc training at Stanford in social impact research in partnership with teachers and youth-led nonprofits.

When not at work, Cherise is most likely cheering on her daughters at school or in the flag football stands, working on her memoir, or enjoying walks in Oakland with her little dog Louie.
