Raul supports the grants management operations at Magic Cabinet, bringing over 7 years of experience across the philanthropic, nonprofit, and private sectors. Understanding that holistic and creative approaches are necessary to address complex challenges, Raul firmly believes in the power of philanthropic institutions to achieve systemic change. He looks forward to leveraging his background in equity-driven grantmaking and regulatory compliance to contribute to Magic Cabinet’s mission to shift philanthropy to center community.

Born and raised in Mexico, Raul now calls San Francisco home. He holds a BSc in biotechnology engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a MSc in science and technology policy from the University of Sussex.

Outside of work you’ll find him exploring new recipes, planning his next trip, exploring the city, playing video games and learning about music production.
